Bi Tilo
Bi Tilo are a performance group playing traditional serouba drums from the Casamance region of southern Senegal. Lead by Mocolou Sawane from Senegal. The Serouba is regarded as a ceremonial drum often played in the villages of Casamance to mark the coming of age for the young men and other celebrations, some still secret to this day!
The group play & sing traditional rhythms from the region. Bi Tilo are a high energy group, very exciting to watch and dance to. Bi Tilo can play in almost any venue, unlike the more common African ensembles that require bass drum set up etc.

Groups
Steve played with Manding Kaira from 2006 to 2007. In 2008 we changed the name of the group to 'Sodeya'
At the end of 2009 Steve, persuaded his friend Mocolou Sawane to form a serouba drumming group. Serouba is a traditional drum from the Casamance region of Senegal. For Steve, the Serouba drum encompases the whole spectrum of 'African drumming' using elements of bass drums, sticks like Sabar drums, and melodic songs all played with high energy but a laid back approach.
Sodeya
SODEYA.......(malinke language) means: One cannot imagine life without music, it helps us thorough hard times, and celebrates the good times. Lead by the world famous Nansady Keita.
Recorded 2006
Steve also leads his own group 'Afrodisiac' now in their 10th year as a group. www.afrodisiac.ukf.net for further info.
